Security of your Credit Card Data

We use a third-party payment management company in order to process credit card transactions.

For your convenience, we also utilize “Braintree” to process Paypal payments.  You can read more about Braintree at

https://www.braintreepayments.com/ca/legal/braintree-privacy-policy. Braintree utilizes a process known as "tokenization" in order to securely process credit card transactions when you provide your credit card data to us. Tokenization is the replacement of sensitive data with a unique identifier that cannot be mathematically reversed. Within our environment, tokens take the place of sensitive credit card data. The token will retain the last four digits of the card as a means of accurately matching the token to the payment card owner. The remaining numbers are generated using proprietary tokenization algorithms.

  • To make a purchase on the website, the customer will enter their payment card information into the designated payment fields on the order page. These payment fields will be hosted by Braintree using Secure Acceptance. When you submit your credit card data to Urban Carry, the data is immediately encrypted and transmitted directly to Braintree for storing, processing, and token generation. The payment data is not stored or retained by us.
  • The encrypted primary account number (PAN) is decrypted when it enters Braintree's Level 1, PCI-compliant data vault, where it is securely stored. The payment data is then passed on to the processing channel (bank) and returned to Braintree with an accepted or denied result.
  • Braintree returns the result to us but substitutes the PAN data with a uniquely generated token. The token is stored by Urban Carry for future transactions. Urban Carry performs quarterly scans in order to demonstrate compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard ("PCI-DSS").

IMPORTANT CONSUMER SAFETY WARNINGS

Please read these warnings thoroughly and carefully before using the Urban Carry® firearm holster.  Before using any of our holsters for Concealed Gun Carry please learn and abide by the laws of your State concerning Concealed Carry Policy.

Please practice the four universal rules for Gun Safety:

1. Keep your finger off the trigger until you have made the decision to fire.

2. Every firearm is always loaded, even if it's not.

3. Never point your weapon at anything you aren't willing to destroy.

4. Be 100% sure of your target, and 100% aware of what is beyond it before making the decision to fire.

Turning Point Distribution LLC takes pride in the quality which goes into each and every one of its, hand made in the USA, holsters and strives to manufacture the finest products available on the market today.

Firearms Safety

Turning Point Distribution, LLC (“TPD”), the manufacturer of the Urban Carry® line of holsters and accessory products, warns all users of these holsters to exercise extreme caution in the handling of all firearms. Since all firearms are potentially dangerous, they should not be used by anyone who has not completed a firearms safety course. Failure to heed these warnings or follow firearm operating instructions may result in the accidental discharge of a firearm causing serious injury or even death.

All firearms are potentially dangerous. Their use may cause great harm, personal injury or death. For your own safety and the safety of others, it is your responsibility to carry and handle any firearm safely. Proper training is available through accredited firearm safety programs conducted through police departments, the military, state-run hunter safety programs, and other agencies such as the National Rifle Association. Do not carry or use a firearm without a thorough knowledge of its characteristics and safe use in the circumstances in which you intend to use it. It is also your responsibility to be certain that your firearm is in proper, safe operating condition at all times.

With the correct fit and when used properly, a holster is a valuable aid in carrying a firearm. Because holsters are used to carry firearms, however, any person purchasing or using an Urban Carry® holster should read and understand the following warnings and all instructions included with the holster as well as be thoroughly familiar with general rules of firearm safety and the firearm manufacturer’s recommendations and instructions for the proper and safe use of his or her firearm in the circumstances in which he or she is using or intends to use it.

These warnings should be read prior to the use of Urban Carry products. All firearms are potentially dangerous weapons. Firearms should be kept out of the reach of children. Use of a handgun under any conditions may be dangerous. Serious personal injury or even death could occur without proper training in the safe handling of firearms by an accredited firearms safety course. No person should handle any firearm unless such a person has successfully passed an accredited firearms safety program. Great care should be used when handling, storing, or transporting firearms or when placing or removing a handgun from your Urban Carry holster.

Testing a New Holster for Proper Holster and Handgun Fit:

Never place a loaded handgun in a holster without first testing, in an unloaded condition (double-check to make sure the chamber is empty and the mag is out), for proper fit with the handgun. Urban Carry Holsters are designed to fit factory-equipped handguns. The use of trigger shoes or grip adapters or any modifications to the handgun may cause improper holster fit and accidental discharge. All Urban Carry Holsters are designed to function safely and are made for specific handguns. DO NOT ALTER YOUR URBAN CARRY HOLSTER IN ANY WAY, INCLUDING ANY SAFETY DEVICE INCORPORATED IN ANY URBAN CARRY PRODUCT TO ACCOMMODATE HANDGUNS OR OTHER

Equipment for which the Urban Carry Product was not Designed or Intended:

We have tried to clearly label which holsters offer a proper fit for specific handguns. However, continual changes will occur due to the number of handgun makes and models available on the market. Urban Carry will not be responsible for typographical and other human errors that can and do occur. It is the user’s responsibility to personally check for holster handgun compatibility using actual products. It is also the user’s responsibility to regularly check the holster and its hardware (including, but not limited to, snaps and tension screws, stitching) for proper fit and function. Although Urban Carry attempts to fit the most current model handguns, manufacturers of handguns constantly update their product specifications. Slight manufacturing changes in a handgun model can affect the proper and safe fit of your handgun and holster. Urban Carry will not be responsible for such changes or for typographical or other human errors, which can and do occur despite diligent efforts. Should any Urban Carry product become worn, loose, broken, defective or ill-fitting, or if in your opinion is unsafe, cease use immediately.

Carry "Condition" of Firearm:

Carrying any handgun with a live cartridge in the chamber immediately in front of the firing pin may cause an accidental discharge. Single action revolvers and some semi-automatic pistols should be carried with the hammer or firing pin resting on an empty chamber.

Urban Carry Holsters are designed for "hammer down, empty chamber" carry, unless otherwise specified.

It is the user’s responsibility to exercise extreme caution when handling or carrying any handgun and to assume at all times that the gun is loaded. Do not attempt to cock a handgun while it is in the holster. Cocking the handgun while holstered can cause damage to the holster, gun, or both and may cause an accidental discharge. For information on how to safely carry your particular handgun, please refer to your handgun manufacturer’s safety and instruction manual.

Holstering your Firearm:

You must be certain that your gun is securely seated in the holster each time you holster your firearm before removing your hand from the grip. Firearms must fit snugly in holsters to guard against accidental loss of the handgun. However, a snug fit may cause the slide to go out of battery when holstering. Therefore, you should always place your thumb on the back of the slide to ensure that the slide does not go out of battery while holstering. Keep fingers off the trigger and out of the trigger guard when drawing or replacing the handgun in the holster.

Firearm Retention

Always make sure your gun is fully seated in the holster, activating all auto and/or manual retention devices (when provided). Retention devices must be used when provided. During vigorous physical activity, including running, you should not rely on your holster’s retention capabilities; the gun should be held in place with your hand to prevent the gun from falling out of the holster or adjusting. We strongly recommend a regular practice routine be utilized to assure the continued capabilities of both product and user.

Tension units are not pre-set at the factory. You will need to adjust them to the appropriate tension to help retain your firearm. Checking your tension screws each time you use your holster is required as part of a regular safety inspection of your equipment. Applying a small amount of clear nail polish to the threads of the tension units after they have been properly adjusted will minimize screw back-out.

Firearm Security

Carrying a firearm is a serious responsibility that requires constant awareness. It is your responsibility to exercise extreme caution during any situation where another individual may attempt to take away your handgun. Law enforcement officers in particular should be familiar with the departmental tactical and procedural guidelines regarding the use and carrying of firearms in close proximity to potentially dangerous individuals.

Cocked Hammers

DO NOT carry any firearm in a cocked (i.e., “cocked and locked”) condition unless you have been specifically trained in the proper and safe procedure for such use and the firearm has been manufactured to be carried safely in this condition. Carrying a firearm in this conditions increases the risk of accidental discharge and should only be carried in this condition by advanced, experienced and skilled professional shooters under conditions that require a firearm to be drawn and fired under extremely short time constraints who have the training and experience to recognize the inherent risks associated with it. If you carry a firearm and carry it cocked, ALWAYS engage the safety before holstering the firearm and DO NOT disengage the safety until after the firearm has been drawn and is clear of the holster.

Take-Away

Carrying a firearm is a serious responsibility and must be given constant attention and awareness at all times. It is not possible for any holster to be manufactured that is completely “take-away proof” or “snatch proof.” It is your responsibility to exercise extreme caution and diligence at all times during any situation where another individual may attempt to take away your firearm and to strictly adhere to any procedure in which you have been trained.

Retention

Do not rely on your holster’s retention capabilities to justify activities which may dislodge your firearm. Your firearm should be held in place by hand during any vigorous physical activity such as running, jogging, jumping, falling or tumbling to avoid the firearm falling from the holster. Always make sure the firearm is firmly placed in its proper position in its holster.

Holstering

Always point your firearm in a safe direction and use extreme caution when holstering or un-holstering your firearm to avoid an accidental discharge. ALWAYS use care when holstering any firearm to avoid unintentional cocking of the firearm. Do not use a loaded firearm during practice and training. Before placing the firearm in the holster, the firearm should be completely unloaded, including the magazine, chamber and cylinder. After holstering, check to make sure the firearm is not in a cocked position and do not touch the hammer of the firearm when holstering or drawing the firearm. DO NOT holster or draw the firearm with your finger on the trigger.

 Firearm Fit

Urban Carry® holsters come in different sizes and may be used with a number of different firearms. While TPD has identified firearms which (including with certain designated modifications or variances) may fit certain Urban Carry® holsters, you and only you can determine if your use of a particular firearm with an Urban Carry® holster is safe and appropriate, as such depends upon a wide variety of factors, many of which are outside of TPD’s control. Your Urban Carry® holster may not fit the contours of your firearm exactly and the leather does take time to become supple, which is normal. Modifications to your firearm, your particular body shape and apparel (size and style of pants, etc.) may impact your ability to safely use your Urban Carry® holster.

ALL HOLSTERS MUST BE ADJUSTED TO FIT BOTH YOU AND THE FIREARM ITSELF BEFORE USING THE HOLSTER TO CARRY A FIREARM AND YOU MUST VERIFY COMPATIBILITY OF THE FIREARM WIH THE HOLSTER AND YOUR BODY AND APPAREL. Even the slightest changes in a firearm can have important safety consequences with regard to the way in which a firearm fits a particular holster. It is also your responsibility to regularly check your holster for precise fit and performance. Should your holster become ill fitting, worn, loose, broken, or defective at any time, CEASE USE IMMEDIATELY. In addition, the holster MUST be worn and secured with a sturdy belt and is to be worn in your pants. Your body shape as well as the fit of your pants and other apparel can significantly impact the safe usability of your holster, which must be verified by you each time you wear the holster. Contact TPD immediately if your holster becomes ill fitting, worn, loose, broken, or defective or if you have any questions regarding these issues by emailing support@urbancarryholsters.com or by calling 844-4-HOLSTER.

Do not use a loaded firearm during practice and training or during the adjustment period. Before carrying the holster, the firearm should be completely unloaded, including the magazine, chamber and cylinder. After being certain your firearm is unloaded, you should test your holster for proper fit. Never place a loaded firearm in a holster without first testing it unloaded for proper fit. Use only the firearm for which your holster was designed. CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT THE HOLSTER DOES NOT INTERFERE with any safety features, controls, sights, or magazines release devices of the firearm and DO NOT use the holster if it does. If there is any doubt, cease use of the holster immediately.

Alteration

Neither your firearm nor your Urban Carry® holster should be modified, changed, or altered in any way (including attachments) because such modification, change or alteration may increase the chance for accidental discharge. All Urban Carry® holsters are designed to function safely and efficiently with modern, high quality, factory equipped firearms. DO NOT use any Urban Carry® holster to carry any firearm that has been modified, changed, altered, contains any attachments, is custom-made, or is broken or malfunctioning in any way, including firearms that are not of original factory specifications.
