Alien Gear vs Urban Carry Holsters
Are you looking for a new holster but can't decide which holster to buy? At Urban Carry we tested the pros and cons of some of our competitiers. The Urban Carry is an IWB (inside wasit band) holster so we compared our holster with Alien Gear's IWB.
Alien Gear IWB Holster
Pros: Conceals very well, comfortable once broken in, even weight distribution.
Cons: Take a long time to attach to your person, very slow break in period, bulky, clearly visibly with tighter clothing.
Urban Carry Holsters are a new breed of concealed carry holster. Unlike traditional IWB holsters, the Urban Carry offers deep concealment without sacrificing comfort and versatility. Our genesis came in 2014 with a meeting of three incredible minds – a craftsman, a visionary, and a integrator. These three came together to create a revolutionary idea for a deep concealment holster. Our idea was to create a holster that could truly withstand the rigorous use of daily wear while being comfortable when seated. All of this needed to be done without sacrificing discretion and concealability.
Pros: Conceals very well, comfortable, can use multiple guns with one holster, no printing, quick draw, high quality leather.
Cons: Won't work well without good ridged belt.
After testing we found good things about both of these holsters. But if you are looking for something to conceal your firearm without anyone even noticing that you have one, we believe that the Urban Carry is the right holster for you. If you are unsure of what size to for your firearm, look at our chart or send us an email and we will gladly assist you.

Firearms Expert, Urban Carry Holsters
I've been with Urban Carry Holsters since 2020, proudly serving as the Firearms Expert. Before that, I served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps, including a deployment to Iraq from 2009 to 2010. During my time in the Infantry as a Sergeant, I developed a deep interest in the wide range of firearms we used. It fascinated me to learn why specific weapons were chosen for different missions and roles.Breaking into the firearms industry wasn't easy, but persistence paid off. While attending a trade show, I discovered the Sonoran Desert Institute. That opportunity led me to earn an Associate of Science in Firearms Technology, along with certifications as a Pistol Expert and Range Safety Officer. My passion for firearms continues to grow every day. I'm always learning, always improving, and always striving to bring that knowledge and experience to the work we do here at Urban Carry.
