You bring up a great question.  There are some significant differences between the original Urban Carry holster (G1), the new G2 holster and the G2e English Bridle version.  

While the carrying positioning of the holster is the same for all three the main difference is that the original (G1) Urban Carry holster requires a belt while the G2 and G2e do not (and instead have a clip to secure it to the pants or pant and belts).
