In this video, we're going to be showing you how to properly attach the Viridian R5 (Reactor) laser to the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield. The Shield we're using in this video is a 9mm, but it would work the same with the Shield .40 S&W or Shield .45 ACP.

The R5 laser features ECR, or Enhanced Combat Readiness, technology which allows for a very easy on/off of the laser when you draw it from an ECR-compatible holster. The laser will turn on when the gun is drawn, and turn off when reholstered.

This means that in those precious seconds of drawing and sighting, you don't have to worry about turning on a laser. Continue scrolling for the full video!

Today we are going to be adding a Viridian laser to an M&P Shield 9mm. Let's go ahead and do a safety check to make sure the chamber and mag well are clear. Look at that, nice and clear, back into battery.

Next we are going to pick up the Viridian. Next we are going to grab the star headed Allen key that they give us to remove the three screws out of the clam shell. Remember this is plastic, and metal screws so do not over tighten or use too much force, as they will strip. These star heads like to strip.

It’s taking a lot of stress to remove it. Careful guys, you don’t want to strip one of these in there. While were taking this apart, remember to like and share this on Facebook, give us a follow on Instagram and Twitter. Subscribe to our email and events list that way you can get all the up-and-coming information about what's going on with Urban Carry Holsters.

Remove the clamshell that’s going to fit snugly around the trigger guard. Here we're going to go ahead and outline that and one side and we'll flip it over. We're going to put the batteries in to the other side and make sure positive goes to positive and negative goes to negative so the laser will function correctly. Batteries in. Unit together.

Go ahead and get your screws and star bit Allen key and replace the screws where they came from. So with Viridian green lasers, there’s a couple things that they do. Viridian has a technology called ECR, which allows the laser to come on and off when the firearm is drawn from the holster that has the similar technology. Exciting news here, we will be testing this technology in our holster to see if it functions.

Viridian and Urban Carry are working together on making this package work within our holster so you guys have some laser sight options when you’re carrying in a deep concealment, below the waistband format. As you can see the laser is functioning it is on has another mode of flashing and then off of course. So while that’s on if its on the magnetic field breaks up the signal, shuts the laser off, turns back on.

Remember guys the Viridian green laser is a product available here with us at Urban Carry. When you’re looking for a firearm, Urban Carry is going to be a one-stop shop for those lasers and holsters.
