The AR-15 - America’s modern sporting rifle that spawned the design of so many “black rifles.” The AR-15 also happens to be the maligned nemesis of gun control advocates, creating such a fervor of misinformation around it that the mainstream media now uses inaccurate terminology to describe the AR-15 (and its variants) on a regular basis.
What was originally designed as an innovative approach to sporting rifles has become a subject of constant political debate, and the AR-15 design has become a love it or hate it firearm, depending on which side of the fence you sit on. We’re going to leave the politics out of this article, and simply give you the facts on the AR-15 - what it is, what it isn’t, where it came from and where it’s going.

Let’s hop into Doc’s DeLorean and travel back to the Industrial Revolution. Factories popped up in every city, drawing thousands of would be employees. Labor was cheap and safety was never a key priority for employers. Jails saw an influx of “residents” unable to cope with the new landscape, as many new city dwellers resorted to crime as a way to survive.

The Side Grip: Functional Aiming Method or Hollywood Fabrication?
Trick shot, side grip, and “gangsta” style. These are a few of the nicknames given to a very distinctive style of one-handed shooting. Using one hand, and then canting the gun to align the sights with the dominant eye primarily characterize this style. While hearing Steve Carell scream killshot is pretty hilarious, the "gangster grip" seems ridiculous, at least to those of us even somewhat accustomed to proper shooting mechanics.
